Mr. Paul Eugene Tucker, 80, of Clemmons passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2009 at his home. He was born May 16, 1929 in Forsyth County to Paul Allan and Beatrice Hawkins Tucker. He retired from Engineering Management at Southern Bell after 36 years of service, but continued working as a telecommunications consultant until his illness. Mr. Tucker was a past president of the Gate City Jaycees, a former member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent. After moving to Winston-Salem, he became a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Frances O'Kelley Tucker and by his sister, Dorothy Lambert. Surviving are his wife, Violet Moore Tucker; three children, Kenneth E. Tucker (Patty) of Mt. Airy, Elaine T. Rudisill (Steve) of Charlotte and Bryan L. Tucker (Angie) of Advance; a stepson, Todd Evans (Peggy) of Clyde; a stepdaughter, Donna E. Jones (Tim) of Mooresville; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Clemmons United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Portis officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
