Paul Edward Steele

Paul Edward Steele, 88, of 136 Homestead Hills Circle, Winston-Salem, NC, passed away February 16, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was a veteran of World War II. He and his wife Dorothy owned and operated Steele's Market on Keystone Avenue in Sayre, Pa. Paul had a passion for gardening and feeding his birds. He was a member of St. Timothy's Church in Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by 5 brothers, Chick, Jack, Ted, Roy, Bobby, and 1 sister Peg and son-in-law, Michael Brown. Paul is survived by his wife of 68 years Dorothy Rummel Steele and two sisters, Louise Harris and Dorothy Steele of Owego, NY, his children and their spouses Pat (Keith) Strouble of Greensboro, NC, Edie (Bill) Driscoll of Rome, Pa, Polly Steele Brown of Sayre, Pa, and Joe (Bonnie) Steele of Winston Salem, NC, his grandchildren Keith, Justin, Dale, Tami, Steven, Azure, Jade, Sethra, Paul II, and great-grandchildren Amaya, Michael, Victoria, Brody, Isabelle, Haylie, and Ashland. There will be no calling hours and a memorial service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy's Church Choir Fund, 2575 Parkway Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Chapel, in Winston-Salem.
