Paul Thomas Shelton, Sr.

Mr. Paul Thomas Shelton, Sr., 76, of Clemmons, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2015.

Paul was born January 31, 1939 in Surry County to Roy E.K. Shelton and Margaret Walker Shelton. He worked for many years as a salesman for several trucking companies. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellen, and he served as an excellent caretaker for her during the duration of her illness. He was a fan of Duke Basketball and baseball, especially any team his grandson played on and the Atlanta Braves. Paul will be fondly remembered as a good man, with a heart of gold who was always doing kind things for others.

Paul is survived by his son, Paul ""Tommy"" Shelton, Jr. and wife Renee, of Clemmons; daughter, Amy Styers and husband Jeffrey, of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hawkins and husband Jason, Jennifer Styers, Tripp Shelton, and Hallie Jo Shelton; great-grandchild, Greyson Hawkins; brothers, Walker Shelton and wife Nancy, and Wayne Shelton and wife Susan; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2 pm at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Matthew W. Allen and Rev. Wayne Shelton officiating.
