Paul MacArthur Pope

Winston Salem - Paul MacArthur ""Buck"" Pope, 57, a loving companion, father, grandfather, brother and friend, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1951 in Johnson Co. Tennessee to the late Ray Franklin and Martha Horne Pope. Paul was a family man and a diligent worker. He loved his family and enjoyed his time spent fishing. Surviving are his companion and friend, Donetta Pennington; three daughters, Carrie Whitener, Melissa Wheeler, and Michelle Henderson; three sons, Michael Pope, Sam Pennington, and James Pennington; nine grandchildren, Chris, Ashleigh, Sean, Justin, Haleigh, Jordan, Lucas, Cole and Kaylee; two brothers, Frank Pope, Jr., and Dale Pope; one sister, Gerry Patterson; and mother of his children, Shirley Lee Pope. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Hayworth Miller Cain Funeral Home Chapel in Kernersville with Pastor Teresa Forshee officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 pm Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the funeral home.
