KERNERSVILLE-Paul Edward McGee, 87, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born October 19, 1923 in Forsyth Co. to the late Eugene O. and Mary Dela McGee. Mr. McGee was a WWII Army veteran and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He loved fishing, gardening and playing the guitar. Paul played with Dale McGee and the Ramblers for several years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Sadie Branson, Annie Flynt, Bertha Robbins; three brothers, William, Dewey, and Elmer McGee. Surviving are his beloved wife, Betty Crews McGee; his son, Dale Edward McGee both of the home; and one sister, Dorothy Hedgecock. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Dean, Rev. Neal Eller, and Rev. Jeff Broadstreet officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church Arbor Committee, 5424 Union Grove Rd., Oak Ridge, NC 27310.
