Paul Thomas John" Joyce

Kernersville - Paul Thomas ""John"" Joyce, 90, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Bradford Village West Nursing Home in Kernersville. Paul was born November 8, 1917 in Forsyth Co. to the late Robert Walter and Emma Mounce Joyce. He served in WWII as a Medic in the South Pacific, he was a member of Parkview Primitive Baptist Church. Paul loved animals, especially his mules, and enjoyed going on Wagon Trains with his friends. Mr. Joyce was loved for his wonderful sense of humor, and ""entertained"" everyone he met. He was famous for his ring making, and delighted in the laughs they brought to others. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years Pauline Vance Joyce; eight brothers, Percy, Rex, Foy, Claddie, Brady, Carl, Vernon, and Gilbert Joyce. Surviving are a daughter, Paula Turner and husband Chris, a son Tommy Joyce and wife Sandy, five grandchildren, April Beavers, Cristen Hoots, Paul Joyce II, Beth McCuiston, Katie Turner, and eight great-grand children, a brother, Ben Joyce, and a sister, Dorothy Willard. A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home Chapel in Kernersville with Elder E. W. Hooven officiating. Entombment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm on Saturday November 8, 2008 at the funeral home.
