Paul Franklin 'Frank' Hines

Mr. Frank Hines of Winston-Salem, NC went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Mr. Hines was born June 8, 1925 in Davidson County to Paul Hubert and Ora Clodfelter Hines. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Jay, Richard and Rockford Hines. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Betty Thompson Hines; two daughters, Rebecca Johnson and husband Clark of Winston-Salem, NC, Patsy Batten and husband Tim of Fuquay-Varina, NC; one son, Mike Hines and Cindy Walser of Lexington, NC; grandchildren, Christi McDaniel and husband Phillip, Joshua McMahon, Amber Fletcher and husband Brad, Eve Nelson and husband Leon, and Wayne Batten; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jared McDaniel, Dylan McMahon, Madison Fletcher and Camden Nelson; two sisters, Pearl Smith and Jane Ashby and husband Elmer, all of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Hines of Greer, SC; and several nieces, nephews and special friends. Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Piedmont. He retired from Western Electric in 1982. He was a faithful member of Canaan UMC until Christmas 2011. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Canaan United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chuck Ireson and the Rev. Lee Strange officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family visitation will be on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
