Mr. Paul William Haynes, 83, of Clemmons died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born March 10, 1929 in Wilkes County to Paul Homer and Clara Wiles Haynes. Mr. Haynes was retired from AT&T following 39 years of service and was a veteran of the US Navy. He was an avid golfer and loved his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet Lowder. Survivors include one daughter, Denise Johnson and husband, Kim of Clemmons; one son, Danny Haynes and wife, Betty of Florida; two grandchildren, Megan Johnson of Oak Island and Danny Haynes, Jr. of Florida; his companion of over 20 years, Erma Everhart of Winston-Salem; four sisters, Betty Hall and husband, Bill of Mocksville, Gwinith Gregg of Winston-Salem, Marilyn Walklett and husband, Bill and Alece Key and husband, Denver of Florida; one brother-in-law, Frank Lowder of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 2:30 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forsyth Humane Society, 61 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
