Patty Hamner Kimel Crouch, age 82, of Winston-Salem, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born January 22, 1929 in Lexington, NC, one of eight children to John William Hamner and Retta Elberson Hamner. Patty was a graduate of Welcome High School in 1948. She was married to Dr. C.A. Kimel for 26 years until his death in 1974. She is survived by her three children, Deborah Kimel Brandon married to Thomas Brandon, Charles Hamner Kimel married to Renee Kimel, Ray Burt Kimel and special friend Sally Fulk; and four grandchildren, Michelle Kimel Hurlocker married to Brian Hurlocker, Jonathan Essick, Melissa Kimel Miller married to Daniel Miller, and Amanda Essick. Patty was married to Kenneth Crouch in 1983 until his death in 1999. She was a member of Friedberg Moravian Church and the Friedberg Senior Friends. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Friedberg Moravian Church with The Rev. Tom Shelton and The Rev. Jimmy Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The viewing will be prior to the service and the family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
