Patsy Sapp Nelson Litaker

KERNERSVILLE - Patsy Sapp Nelson Litaker, April 6, 1945 - November 4, 2010, passed away in her home in Kernersville, N.C. One of eight children born to Charles Dewey Sapp and Dillie Slate Sapp, Patsy will be remembered lovingly by her children: Karen Nelson Harrold (Greg); Penni Nelson Swaim (Tim); Bill Nelson (Josh). She is survived also by eight grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 6 siblings: Ruby Sapp Nichols, Howard Sapp, Leo Sapp, Kenneth Sapp (Nancy), Judy Sapp Stafford and Janice Sapp Marcus (John). In addition to her parents, Patsy is predeceased by husband James Litaker and sister Betty Jean Sapp Whaley. Patsy's life was spent caring for others as a mother, wife, sister and friend, but she gave of herself in many other ways, too. Over the years she served as Girl Scout leader, E.M.T., fire and rescue squad member and registered nurse. For the past 10 years, Patsy served as Home Care Nurse Supervisor for Tendercare, Inc. of Winston-Salem, finding joy in her clients and co-workers. Never slow to lend a hand where needed, Patsy leaves a legacy of caring, generosity and perseverance of which her family can be proud and which will impact generations to come. She will be greatly missed. The family will be receiving on Friday, November 5 from 7-9 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Kernersville. The funeral service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Saturday, November 6 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Garden of Memories Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
