Patsy Burton

Patsy “Pug” Ann McKinney Burton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at her home.  She was born in Forsyth County on October 28, 1934 to the late Wilson Young and Dora Lee McKinney.  She was educated in the Forsyth County school system.  While in high school she met the love of her life, Raymond Junior “RJ” Burton.  RJ and Patsy were married in April 1952 and together they raised four children.  After all the kids started school she went to work for 4C’s, a subsidiary of Coca-Cola.  After retirement, Patsy and RJ enjoyed traveling and life together until RJ passed away on March 14, 2006.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert McKinney and daughters, Debbie Haynes and Donna Simms.  Those left to cherish her memory is a son, Bobby (Charlotte); daughter, Linda Shore (Waverly); sons-in-law, John Haynes and Charles Simms; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:30 on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel, 6685 Shallowford Rd. Lewisville, NC 27023.  A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Forsyth Memorial Park, 3771 Yadkinville Rd. W-S, NC 27106 with Brother Christopher Motley officiating.  The family would like to thank Julie Valentine for her wonderful friendship during Patsy’s last days and RN Charity from Amedisys Hospice for her loving care.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel is serving the family.
