Mrs. Patricia Burke Walton, 79, of Mocksville passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at her home. She was born February 19, 1937 in Washington, DC to Thomas and Cleona Burke. Pat graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem and then attended the University of Kentucky where she graduated with high honors. She taught school in Florida where she met her husband Don. She was known for her love of dogs. Pat raised and showed AKC Registered Silky Terriers for forty years including showing at Westminster and was the president of the Silky Terrier Club of America for six years. She cherished her family and friends and enjoyed fishing at the coast. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren's sports and activities. She loved the life she and her family lived on the farm. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Perry Walton. Surviving are two sons, Mike Walton and wife Diane of Advance and Mark Walton of Farmington; daughter-in-law, Maria Walton of Mocksville; six grandchildren, Andie, Michael, Sarah, Katie, Eric and Elizabeth and a sister, Joyce Paris of Xenia, OH. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home in Danville, KY. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 19, 2016 in Bellevue Cemetery in Danville, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society or to Hospice.
