Mrs. Patricia Ann Upchurch Frost, 72, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center. Patricia was born on January 18, 1944, in Washington D.C. to the late Eugene Coleman Upchurch and Melba Lee Batchelor Upchurch. Following childhood years spent in Zebulon, NC she eventually moved to Greensboro, NC where she met the tall and handsome lifeguard (Roger) at the local swimming pool. Soon they married and went on to share 56 loving and devoted years together. Patricia began a career in banking as a teller with First Citizens Bank in Greensboro and then Home Federal S&L. After moving to Winston-Salem she began working for First Federal S&L as a Branch Manager. She and her staff ran one of the highest performing branches in their system. Patricia loved her customers dearly and they loved her as well. In later years she could rarely go anywhere without running into a customer/friend and catching up. She worked through the mergers with Southern National and would then retire early from BB&T. Retirement years were spent at Lake Norman with family and friends, loving on her grandkids and attending their sporting events/activities and enjoying time with her Red Hat friends. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Roger, just 9 months earlier as well as a brother-in-law, Miles Frost. Surviving are her daughter, Ellen Frost Mulheron and husband, Scot of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Elyssa and Corbin Mulheron, both of Winston-Salem; sister, Carla Odette of Winston-Salem; brothers, Tony Upchurch and wife, Marilyn of Reston, VA and Ray Freeman and wife, Marie of Lexington; a special niece, Brittany Odette and fiancé, Scott King of Winston-Salem; sister-in-law, Anne Frost of Jamestown; brothers-in-law, Ellis Frost and wife, Jean and daughter, Gina of Marietta, GA, and Oakley Frost and wife, Linda of Laguna Beach, CA; other nieces and nephews including Wanda Kohler and husband, Scott and children, Terry Upchurch and daughter, Alexandra, Andrea Hitcho and husband, Michael, Rebecca Upchurch, Lee Johnson and daughter, Steigen, Kevin Frost and wife, Karen and children, Julia Frost Davies and husband, Jason and children, Joel Frost and wife, Samantha and children, Brianna Hooper and husband, Greg and children, Michelle DeGroote and husband, Stan and children; additional Upchurch siblings, Rodney, Pam, Linda and Lisa; beloved furry friends, Ellie and Gracie; and numerous other loving and devoted special friends and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church with Fr. Steve Rice officiating. Entombment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 2575 Parkway Dr., Winston-Salem, NC 27103, The American Lung Association, P.O. Box 7000, Albert Lea, MN 56007 or the charity of your choice.
