Patricia De La Torre

Patricia de la Torre, 58, died on December 4, 2018 at her home. Patti was born on March 20, 1960 in Winston-Salem to Ernesto and Carol de la Torre. She attended St. Leo's Catholic School and graduated from Reynolds High School. Patti was the loving mother of her three children, Cleve Sides, Shelly Burns and Joseph Burns. In addition to her parents and children, she is survived by her five sisters, Fe de la Torre, Peggy Joubert, Laurie Armstrong (Martin), Lindy Cash (Alan), and Elena Corbin (Lee), and her brother Ernie (Kathleen). She very much loved her two grandchildren, Avery Tyson Burns and Iris Mae Childress. Patti had a generous spirit that encouraged all living things around her to grow and flourish. She was a talented cook, gardener and inspired nurturer. She had an open mind and an adventurous nature. She wanted nothing more for her children and grandchildren than for them to embrace life and love and to find happiness. She was beautiful, smart, funny and charming. We will miss her. A memorial service for Patti will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Saturday, December 8 at noon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
