Patricia Deadwyler

Ms. Patricia Jim Holmes Deadwyler, 74, of Advance, NC, passed away on October 23, 2021. She was born November 12, 1946, to the late R.S. Holmes, Jr., and Mary Garnett Holmes. Patricia was a loving homemaker who shared her most precious moments with her family.  She was a devout catholic and was a member of several churches, including St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, and attended Holy Family Catholic Church for some time. She held a rosary prayer group among her friends and grew greatly in her faith over the years.  She was also active in the pro-life movement. Outside of church, Patricia enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren.  She loved to smile and laugh with her family, and she was always there for them. Though she suffered greatly mentally and physically, she was a spiritual giant and an encouragement to many.  A picture of her life story can be captured in Holy Scripture in verses 1 Peter 5:10-11: “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, R.S. Holmes and Mary Garnett Holmes; and her brother, William “Bill” Holmes. Surviving are her two sons, Jeff Deadwyler and Stephen Deadwyler; daughter, Jennifer Deadwyler; and four grandchildren, Mikayla, Cohen, Lexi, and Addy.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, November 5, 2021, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with Father John Putnam officiating. Following the service, a private inurnment will be held at Westlawn Gardens of Memory - Open Air Chapel of Peace Columbarium with the family.
