LEXINGTON, NC--Mrs. Patricia ""Patty"" Crater Brittain, 68, of Lexington, NC, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Brittain was born on July 8, 1946 in Forsyth County to the late Samuel Coston Crater, Sr. and Catherine Elizabeth Hartman Crater. Patty graduated from North Davidson High School in 1964. She was employed as an accountant with Western Electric and Pleasants Hardware Store but stopped working to focus on raising her two sons. Patty is survived by her beloved husband, Tom Brittain of the home; two sons, Daniel Brittain (Sabrina) of Knoxville, TN and Charles Brittain (Johanna) of Fredericksburg, VA; four grandchildren, Adam, Samantha, Alex, and Sienna; one brother, Sam Crater (Sherrill) of Lexington, NC; and numerous other loving relatives. Patty was an amazing woman of strength and courage. She loved her family above all else and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Derrick L. Davis Regional Cancer Center, 3333 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
