Patricia Ann Flynn Anthony

STOKESDALE-Patricia Anthony, a former Stokesdale resident, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Conway Medical Center in SC. She was born May 22, 1943 a native of Greensboro. Awaiting her Heavenly arrival were those loved ones who preceded her in death, devoted and loving husband, Mr. Benjamin ""Benny"" Anthony; loving parents, Mr. & Mrs. Dewey Flynn; and cherished sister, Janet Willoughby. She was a woman of amazing strength, courage and faith. A living testament to the scripture we find in 2 Timothy 4:7, Patricia could say with dignity, ""I have fought the good fight. I have finished my race. I have kept the faith."" She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend. She will be missed by many. Left behind to cherish the time here with her and celebrate her life will be her three children, Mary Shipley and husband Ken of Supply, Kim Linville, and Zane Anthony and wife Amy all of Kernersville; seven very blessed grandchildren, Benjamin, Todd, Derek, Bobby, Dillon, Hayley and Brooke; one very blessed great-grandchild, Sidney; a loving sister-in-law and very dear friend, Faye Anthony; and a devoted companion, Horace Williamson. She will be laid to rest at 11:00 am Saturday, November 14, 2009 with a graveside service at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Oak Ridge with the Rev. Tom Southern officiating; and forevermore will be by the side of her high school sweetheart and beloved Benny. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm Friday, November 13, 2009 at the home of Zane and Amy Anthony, 7736 Anthony Rd., Kernersville, NC 27284. In lieu of flowers the family requests honorariums be made in Patricia's name to either a local Hospice organization or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Piedmont Triad Chapter, 1401-B Old Mill Circle, Winston Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Anthony family.
