Pat Mcdaniel

Mrs. Pat Barfield McDaniel, 72, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021.  Pat was born in Lumberton, NC on April 22, 1949, to the late Alley Betsy Gooden Barfield & Walter Roscoe Barfield.  She graduated from High Point Central High School in 1967.  Pat married the love of her life, Carroll McDaniel, on February 14, 1971, at Green Street Baptist Church in High Point, NC and they have cherished their last 50 years together.  She began her battle with breast cancer in 2015 and fought with tenacity and grace until the very end.  Pat loved the Lord, her family, her church family, walking on the beach and reading her large collection of hardback books. She loved life and had an infectious laugh.  Pat was a devoted caretaker and homemaker and yet always found time to put others before herself and always accepted everyone for who they were.  Pat is survived by her husband, Carroll Maston “Butch” McDaniel; son, Aaron Maston McDaniel (Amber Nicole McDaniel) of Kernersville, NC; and two grandchildren, Rylan Blake McDaniel and Brynlee Rae McDaniel.  A Memorial Service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Ardmore Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler Tankersley and Dr. Gina M. Brock officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262 or to Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.  The McDaniel family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Piedmont who gave exceptional love and care to Pat these last few weeks and to the Novant Cancer Center in Winston-Salem, NC for the love and care given to Pat over the last six years.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Mrs. McDaniel.
