Ozias Hawks

Mrs. Ozias Hill Hawks, 88, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at her home. She was born in Carroll County, VA on December 21, 1932 the daughter of the late Willie Cecil Hill and Sarah McCraw Hill. Mrs. Hawks was a member Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church in Kernersville for 30 years. She was an avid reader and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sisters, Opal King and Orene Leonard; two brothers, W.O. Hill and Olin Hill; and one son in-law, Bobby Spear. Mrs. Hawks is survived by her husband, Howard Layton Hawks; two daughters, Jeanette Slater (Andy) and Joyce Spear; four grandchildren, Chris Spear (Amy), Kim Spear, Michael Slater and Michele Mankey (Joe); five great-grandchildren, Layton, Matthew, Colton, Sadie and Elizabeth; and one brother, Oscar Hill (Barbara). A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder E.W. Hooven and Pastor Oscar Hill officiating. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church or Mountain Valley Hospice.
