Osie Wooten Jennings

Mrs. Osie Wooten Jennings, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at her home. She born June 26, 1930 in Forsyth County to Grover Cleveland and Flora Leona Stewart Wooten. Mrs. Jennings was a member of Beck's Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and accepted everyone as family. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Aldine G. Hege, Jr., David F. Jennings, and Richard Wyatt Jennings; one daughter, Rebecca Leigh Street. She is survived by her husband, Roy Jennings; four sons, Richard Wayne (Josey) Hege, Sr., Roy H. (Teresa) Jennings, Jr., Alan P. (Susan) Jennings, Tim (Kathy) Hege; one daughter, Catherine H. (Bob) Ittermann; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Wooten and Doris Leigh Sattenfield; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Beck's Baptist Church with Dr. Karl Minor officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Beck's Baptist Church, 5505 Becks Church Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106. The family wishes to thank Tina Gladden and the staff at Hospice for the great care given to Osie during her illness.
