Orville Lee Wilson of Winston-Salem, NC passed away early Friday morning March 2, 2012. He was born in Kentucky on December 22, 1929 to the late Clay and Myrtle Anderson Wilson. Orville served active duty in the United States Air Force from 1949-1952 and in the Air Force reserves from 1954-1966. He was a police officer for the Lexington, KY police department for 27 years. Orville headed the communications department for the police station for a number of years, and retired as a lieutenant. He started the Law Enforcement Course at Eastern Kentucky University. He is preceded in death by a brother. Orville is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Wahnell Hedger Wilson; two daughters Karen Malek and husband Jim, and Carla Meadows; five grandchildren John Malek and wife Cheri, Cathy Malek, Brian Malek, Lorraine Norris and husband Jonathan, and Mark Malek; and a great granddaughter Ryland Malek. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday March, 4, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor John Malek officiating.
