COLE - RURAL HALL Mrs. Orice Sheppard Cole, 100, passed away at her home on Friday, February 15, 2013. She was born in Stokes County on February 24, 1912 to the late Lilla Boaz Sheppard and John J. Sheppard. Mrs. Cole was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville and a member of Rural Hall Senior Citizens. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo J. Cole Sr.; one son, Bunny Richardson Cole; four sisters; and three brothers. Surviving are her three daughters: Tootsie Bennett (Bobby), Shirley White-Lawson (Larry) and Dot Patterson (Jimmy); one son, A.J. Cole Jr. (Jane; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville with the Rev. Eddie Honeycutt and Pastor Wallace Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinnacle, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
