Opal Kast Taylor

KERNERSVILLE - Opal June Kast Taylor, 84, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Monday, May 21, 2012. She was born June 29, 1927 in Bluefield, WV to the late Guy David and Ida Martin Kast. Mrs. Taylor retired from Guilford Mills after 16 years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Berkley William Taylor; a son, Jimmy Albert; one sister, Hannah Kast and one brother, Davis Kast. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Joyce of Kernersville; one sister, Wanda Werts of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren, Dawn Spainhour of Kernersville, Tammy Beeson of Winston Salem, Kim Crews and husband Tim of Winston Salem, Jason ""JJ"" Joyce of Kernersville; three great-grandchildren, Kristen Beeson, Hannah and Heidi Crews; one brother, Sonny Kast of Council Bluffs, IA. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor David McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
