Opal Elizabeth Marion passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Village Care. She was born July 3, 1918 in Surry County, NC to the late Mary Lou Forrest Marion and Paul Alexander Marion. Opal was a lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church and retired from Armtex Inc.

In addition to her parents, Opal was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Marion; and five sisters: Sallie Simmons, Kate Fulk, Mable Fulk, Frankie Marion, and Joyce Martin. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew and caregiver, J.T. Martin. She is also survived by four sisters: Ruth Miller of Dobson, Ona Atkins of Pilot Mountain, Jessie Gray Mitchell of Pinnacle, and Wilma Tucker (Calvin) of Pinnacle.

A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 24 at Fairview United Methodist Church in Pinnacle, NC (Shoals Community) with the Rev. William Roberts and the Rev. Roy Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
