Opal Hubbard

Mrs. Opal Rule Allgood Hubbard passed away at her home on February 14, 2018. She was born in Forsyth County on July 8, 1929 to the late Gene Rule and Artie Gant Rule. Opal retired from Bahnson Company with many years of service. She was a long time member of Salem Baptist Church. Opal was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her first husband Albert T. Allgood; second husband Don Hubbard; two brothers Eugene "Cotton" Rule, Jr., and William "Billy" Rule; two sisters Margaret Crouch, and Juanita Carter; and step son Dale Hubbard. Opal is survived by son Allan Allgood (Phyllis) of Mocksville, NC; daughter Judy Allgood Vanhoy (Larry); step son Tim Hubbard; grandchildren Tina Vanhoy Davis (Gary), Teresa Vanhoy Weavil (Scott), Craig Allgood (Angela Hall), and Angela Allgood (Mark Smyers); step grandson Christopher Hubbard (Lindsey); great grandchildren Matthew, Garrett, Lauren, Shelby, Krista, Sydney, Grier, Grant, Harrison, Madison, Colby, Alyvia; sister Joan Sands; two sister in laws Inez Rule and Polly Rule; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Kivett Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:45 -1:45 PM on Sunday, February 18, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
