KERNERSVILLE-Oneida Caudle Thomas, 86, a loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born January 5, 1929 in Forsyth Co. to the late James Willie and Evelyn Smith Caudle. Mrs. Thomas lived in the Union Cross area all of her life and was a member of Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church. She retired from AT&T as an editor. Her loving smile and kind heart was always shared with family and friends, as well as the animals that brought her so much joy.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bill Thomas; an infant daughter; a brother, Jimmy Caudle; and sister, Martha Nell Smith.
Surviving are her daughter, Sheila Butner (Bruce); granddaughter, Lindsey Butner (Terry); grandsons, Matthew Butner (Melissa), Andrew Butner (Brooke); great-grandchildren, Harley Grace Butner and Luke Thomas Butner; sister, Sari Craver (Ted) and; special nieces, Gina Welty, Jill Caudle, and Jan Reed; special nephew, Eben Smith.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Hogan and Rev. Robert Motsinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
