Olivet Ross Hale

Mr. Olivet Ross Hale, 87, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born November 5, 1928 in Haleyville, AL to the late Martha Lovett Hale and Aetna Ray Hale. Mr. Hale proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, Germany, Lebanon, Dominican Republic, and Vietnam. After his retirement as Command Sergeant Major, Mr. Hale worked in ROTC for WSFCS. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hale was preceded in death by one son, McKeen; two sisters; and one brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Eva Johnson Hale; four sons: Sid (Julianna), Walter (Edith), Phillip (Belinda), and Rob (Velera); nine granddaughters: Lisa, Heather, Miriam, Sjauke, Merle, April, Katie, Megan, and Sarah; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14 at Kingswood United Methodist Church with the Rev. R. Sidney Lanier officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
