Olin Crosby Cranfill went to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord on November 26, 2008 at the age of 66. He graduated from King High School in 1960 and had numerous careers during his lifetime. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed for a time in Korea. After his discharge, he became a Winston-Salem Public Safety Officer. He also was a flight instructor and a corporate pilot for several years, but was most known for his work as a successful building contractor and real estate entrepreneur and developer. Olin was an avid golfer and outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing during his travels to South and Central America. Olin also loved to meet with his friends over breakfast or lunch and always had an endless supply of jokes and tales to keep them entertained. Olin was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Boles Tuttle, stepfather, W.E. Tuttle and sister, Jenny Tuttle. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Diane of forty-five years; sons, Forrest Cranfill and girlfriend, Vicki Nicholson of Clemmons and Darren Cranfill and wife, Amanda of Advance, and the light of his life, his beloved granddaughter, Ali Spencer Cranfill, also of Advance. He also leaves numerous other relatives and long time friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cancer Services at 3175 Maplewood Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel on Friday, November 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the memorial service will be held Saturday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
