Olga Frances Etheridge

Olga Frances Etheridge, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2009 at Clemmons Village II. She was born March 12, 1914 in Allegan, Michigan to Frank J. and Mary L. Osicka. She was of Czech descent. Mrs. Etheridge was raised in Dixon and Harvard, IL. As a young adult, she went to work at Walgreen's Drug Store on the west side of Chicago, where she met her husband. They owned restaurants for many years in Evanston, Deerfield, and Round Lake Park, IL. She later worked in retail sales at J.C. Penney at Hanes Mall and retired in 2002. She is survived by her son, Alton B. Etheridge, Jr. of Fairfield, OH; her daughter, Karen Etheridge Williams of Lewisville; Eugene P. Williams of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Brenda Alderson (Jay) of Ladera Ranch, CA, Alton B. Etheridge, III (Lisa) of South Windsor, CT, Graham S. Williams (Sarah) of Oceanside, CA, Kathleen Bryan of Marathon, FL, Lorrie Koopman (Daniel) of Brewster, MN, and Aimee Barrie (Phillip) of Worthington, MN; great grandchildren, Kaicee, Morgan, and Alton (IV) Etheridge, Sydney Alderson, Arabella Williams, Jerrett Bryan (Vanessa), Jessica Hohenstein, Danielle and Cameron Koopman, Brady and Robert Barrie, and great-great grandchildren Madison and Lucas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Alton B. Etheridge, in 1981; her stepdaughter, Patricia Martin; her grandson, Christian Etheridge; and her sisters, Anne McWethy and Maryanne Walsh. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 5 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Thomas T. Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Memorials may be made to Elizabeth and Tab Williams Adult Day Center, 231 Melrose Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family wishes to extend their love to Mrs. Etheridge's second family at Clemmons Village II where she was truly at home and dearly loved, and to Williams Adult Day Center for their love and support over the years.
