Olene Marshall Burchette

Mrs. Olene Marshall Burchette, 85, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Monday, November 30, 2015. She was born September 7, 1930 in Surry County to the late Leona Pruitt Marshall and Noah Andrew Marshall. Mrs. Burchette graduated from Elkin High School in 1948. She worked at Hanes Brands for many years and cared for her mother for 18 years. Mrs. Burchette was a member of Northwoods Baptist Church for 56 years, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed sewing and loved Gospel music. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burchette was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Billy Ray Burchette and her brother, Sam Marshall. She is survived by two daughters, Jayme Earle (Larry) and Lori Campbell (Tony); seven grandchildren: Zeke (Amber), Phillip, Sarah (David), Amanda, Reanna, Jacob (Breanna), and Ian; two great-granddaughters, Savana and Maddy; and also, several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 4 at Northwoods Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
