Ohma Norvell Holt, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born April 26, 1922 in Guilford Co. to the late William Pettus and Martha Ann Rierson Holt. Mr. Holt was a member of Hiatt Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee. He was a WWII Army Air Force Veteran and retired from International Harvester Co. after many years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Frances Flynn. Surviving are his wife of 70 years which they celebrated on December 27, 2011, Frances Moran Holt of the home; his daughter, Janice Holt Saylors and husband, James of Winston Salem; grandson, Jeffrey Allen Saylors; and great-grandson, Kameron Saylors. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Janet Dixon and Pastor Ken Klein officiating. Entombment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:40 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Hiatt Memorial United Methodist Church, 3898 Kernersville Rd., Winston Salem, NC 27107 or Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
