Odell Ray Speas Jr.

KING Mr. Odell Ray Speas Jr., 64, passed away at his home Thursday, January 26, 2012. He was born in Forsyth Co. on December 19, 1947 to the late Odell Ray Speas Sr. and Mary Lena Myers Speas. Mr. Speas was of the Baptist faith. He was a tool and die maker for many years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Speas Hardy. Mr. Speas is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Judy Speas of the home, a daughter, Angela Speas Lane and husband David, a son, Jimmy Wayne Speas, five grandchildren, April Manley (Thomas), Julia Winfrey, Jason Speas, Joshua Speas and Joseph Speas, 5 great-grandchildren, A sister, Betty Hewett (Walter) and a brother, Randy Speas (Brenda). A visitation for Mr. Speas will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Ln., Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care shown in their time of need.
