Mrs. Nova Jane Bowers Potts, 86, formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away March 8, 2011 at the Brian Center in Lexington. She was born October 26, 1924 in Wilkes County to Robert Laude Bowers and Etta Hutchinson Bowers. She was a faithful member of South Stokes Church of Christ. Mrs. Potts loved working in her garden and cooking and baking for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Noah E. Potts, three brothers and four sisters. Surviving are three sons, Gary Potts and his wife Judy of Lexington, Larry Potts and his wife Wanda of Midway, and Jeffery Potts and his wife Teresa of Winston-Salem; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Mae Weatherman of Lewisville, Marzelle Price of Winston-Salem; three sisters-in-law, Elzada Bowers of Arkansas, Barbara Bowers of Winston-Salem, and Ann Potts of High Point. A funeral service will be conducted 10:00AM Friday, March 11, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Ministers Jim Coviello and Robert Goff officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to express a special Thank You to the staff at the Brian Center and at Twelve Oaks in Mt. Airy for the loving care they showed to Mrs. Potts.
