Norman Edward Tucker

Mr. Norman Edward Tucker, Sr., 92, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth County to the late James Calvin and Rosa Kiger Tucker on June 13, 1917. Mr. Tucker was a member of Cottage Street Church of Christ and built homes for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bernell Mendenhall and Dorothy Ketner; and two brothers Clarence Tucker and J.C. Tucker, Jr.. Mr. Tucker is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Doris A. Tucker; a son Norman Edward ""Eddie"" Tucker, Jr. of Gastonia; a sister Elizabeth Holder and husband Darcy of Winston-Salem; a sister-in-law Doris Tucker of Lewisville; and two grandchildren Kevin Tucker and Kelly Stilwell and husband Patrick. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday September 2, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Minister Don Sloan and Minister James Percival officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, September 1, at the funeral home.
