Norman Parnell, Jr.

Kernersville - Mr. Norman Dale Parnell, Jr., 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Norman was born in Forsyth County on September 15, 1947 to Norman "Tom" Dale Parnell and Mildred Weavil Parnell. He graduated from East Forsyth High School. Norman retired from Parnell Racing where he was the co-owner. In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his grandson, Travis Parnell and daughter-in-law Loretta Parnell. He is survived by his wife, Faye Harmon Parnell; son, Tommy Parnell; daughter, Stephanie Blair (husband, Mark); two grandchildren, Traci Bryant (husband, Dan) and Maegan Blair; five great grandchildren; one sister, Susie Davis (husband, John); one brother, Kerry Parnell (wife, Gretta); two special nephews, Derrick Berrier and Kacey Parnell; a favorite uncle, Clarence "Bun" Weavil and many close family, friends and neighbors. A funeral service for Norman will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kernersville Shepherd's Center at 431 W.
