Norman Odell Elson

Mr. Norman Odell Elson passed away Monday evening, June 6, 2016 at Autumn Care of Waynesville. He was born on January 17, 1921 in Forsyth County, to the late Joe Hubbard Elson and Ava Hester Elson. Norman was a member of Cottage Street Church of Christ He served in the United States Army Infantry Division, during World War II. Norman loved to travel and has visited every state in the United States. He was preceded in death by his wife Alma Ruth Elson. Norman is survived by daughter Ruth Elson; son Glenn Elson; grandson Brandon Elson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. James Percival and Mr. Jerry Nifong officiating. Burial will follow at Boyers Chapel Church of Christ. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller.
