Norman W. Drouillard, Sr., 85 of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Drouillard was born July 7, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Elmer Drouillard and the late Frances Theople Drouillard. He was a decorated Army veteran serving in WWII as a Field Lineman and Sharp Shooter. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Clemmons Lodge # 755 AF and AM. For 25 years he co-owned Farmington Dragway and was inducted in the Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 2008. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Norman Bryan Drouillard, brother, Richard and sister, Shirley. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey Kutassy Drouillard; his loving children, Alan Drouillard and wife Sandi, Norman Drouillard, Jr. and wife Leatha, Doreen Olson and husband Jim, and Shelly Drouillard; sister, Phyllis Guy, and brother, Herb Drouillard; grandchildren, Paul, Timothy, Nicole, Christopher, Benjamin, Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Angelica, Gabriella, Lei Lani, Caeley Rose, Dillon and Attila, and a great-great grandchild, Kiernan O'Malley and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ronald A. Rinn officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory with masonic rites and military honors. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Friday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital 604 Doug Mays Pl. Charlotte, NC 28262. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, the community and the many friends whose lives he touched.
