Mr. Norman Bunyon DeHart, Jr., passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022. He was born October 20, 1941, in Forsyth County to the late Norman Bunyon DeHart, Sr. and Helen Barker DeHart. Norman proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his tenure in service, he worked for Garner Foods, Modern Chevrolet, and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 31 years of service. Norman was also known as a handy man, who loved to work around the house and help others with their projects. His most precious and memorable role was being a father and Papaw. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ruth DeHart Bailey and brother, Arthur “Jack” DeHart. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy DeHart Davis (Danny), three grandchildren: Noah Davis, Caleb Davis, and Abigail Davis; brother, James DeHart (Martha); stepdaughter, Misty Duggins; sister-in-law, Merinda DeHart; and many nieces and nephews, who cherished their “Uncle Bunny”. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, May 28th at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Greg Powell officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
