Norman Paige Barringer

Mr. Norman Paige Barringer, 84, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Barringer was born on December 10, 1928 in Stanly County to Glenn George and Gladys Eagle Barringer. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Barringer retired from Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System after 32 years of service as a teacher and a coach. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Barringer is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ruth Barringer; three sons, David Barringer and wife Terri of Winston-Salem; Kevin Barringer and wife Debbie of Gold Hill; and Todd Barringer and wife Renee of King; five grandchildren Emily Barringer of Winston-Salem, Taylor and Tiffany Barringer, both of King; Bryan Looney and wife Mona of Winston-Salem; and Laura Trojan and husband Joe of Concord; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Barringer and wife Eunice of Charlotte and Ed Barringer and wife Kay of Gold Hill; and a sister, Sylvia Faulk of Gold Hill. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Minister Danny Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons International, P.O.
