Norma Elizabeth Hale Swift

KERNERSVILLE – Norma Elizabeth Hale Swift, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center. Norma was born on October 20, 1940 in Forsyth County to Norman Walter, Sr. and Ethel Southern Hale.

Norma was an active member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. She loved her family and was dedicated to taking care of her husband, Herman, as well as all of her family. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan, supporting the Triad Titans and the Carolina University Bruins.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Swift; a son, Kenneth Randall Swift; a grandson, Mitchell Philip Swift; and two brothers, Stephen Maynard Hale, Sr., and Norman Walter Hale, Jr.

Surviving are two daughters, Robin Walker (husband, C.C.) of Walkertown, and Samantha Boyce (husband, Jay) of Kernersville; a son, Jeff Swift (wife, LeAnne) of New London; as well as five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Eddie Hale, Sr.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Jay Boyce and Rev. Jim Saul officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, at the funeral home.
