Norma Pettyjohn

Mrs. Norma Joyce Overby Pettyjohn, 71, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at her home. She was born July 6, 1951 in Forsyth County to Norman Gray Overby and Apacha Elizabeth Wall Overby. Mrs. Pettyjohn was a very kind and sociable person who never met a stranger and loved her family dearly. Her husband and children were her first priority in her life, always being available for them when needed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Robert Pettyjohn, Sr.  and a sister, Patricia Overby. Surviving are her family whom she adored, a son, James “Robert” Pettyjohn, Jr.; a daughter, Apacha “Patches” Hill (David); two grandchildren, Robert “Joseph” Tetreault (Kayla) and Apacha “Ryan” Tetreault; two great grandchildren, Mason Cole Tetreault and Joseph Jaden Tetreault and one on the way, Kinsleigh Amayah Tetreault; two sisters, Bobbi Gray Shell and April Todd (Doug) two brothers, Norman Gray Overby, Jr. (Pam) and Ronnie D. Overby (Billie). A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Robert Hutchens officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
