Norma Jean Kroll Cheek

Ms. Norma Jean Kroll Cheek, 97, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully on April 9^th, 2024, at The Oaks. Ms. Cheek was born on July 11, 1926, to the late Mr. Wilford D. Kroll and Bertha Lowe Kroll in Panther, West Virginia. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her most prized possessions. There was nothing that she loved more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Norma was a lifelong member of Covenant Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, she lived a long life devoted to Jesus and enjoyed being an active member of the church. She was a huge fan of college basketball, some of her favorite teams were Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the NC State Wolfpack. Ms. Cheek is survived by a son, Jim Cheek; a daughter, Debbie Havens (Eddie); three grandchildren, Jimmy Cheek Jr. (Jennifer), Jaclyn Hitchcock (Paul), and Heather Key (Chaston); and five great grandchildren, Elijah Hitchcock, Jonah Hitchcock, Mason Cheek, Emma Cheek, and Lily-Mae Key. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Karns. 

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 2:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Kevin Conley officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller.
