Mrs. Norma Jean Sherrer Kennemore, 86, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017.

She was born February 10, 1931 in Asheville, NC to Reuben H. and Georgia Torian Womack Sherrer. Mrs. Kennemore was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church and West Side Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina and retired after a long career of teaching. Mrs. Kennemore enjoyed playing bridge and volunteering in Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and for Samaritan Ministries. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray Holliday Kennemore.

Surviving are a daughter, Holli K. Cook and husband Tim, of Mechanicsville, VA; a son, Steven R. Kennemore and wife, Janet of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Jacob Cook (Sara), Tori Cook Shelton, (Jonathan), Olivia Cook Jessee (Ben), Luke Cook (Haylie), and Anna Kennemore; two great-grandchildren, Raegan Cook and Kinsley Shelton; a brother, Charles Sherrer (Linda) of Loganville, GA; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at 6 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Christa Warise officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Home Society of NC, PO Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415.
