Norma Jean Nance Colter

Mrs. Norma Jean Nance Colter, 97, passed away Tuesday December 26, 2023, at Village Care of King. She was born May 5, 1926 to the late Lenoard Greir Nance and Odessa Hudson Nance in Forsyth County. Norma was a dedicated Christian and member of Shattalon Church of Christ, volunteering for VBS, church dinners, and various other church activities. In her younger days Norma loved playing basketball and was a member of a woman’s travel team during the 1940’s. She was also a member of a bowling league for over forty years. Above all she was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who took great pride in taking care of her family. In addition to her parents Norma was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Colter, a brother; L.G. Nance, and a sister; Faye Thacker. She is survived by her three sons; Rick Colter, Keith Colter (Susan), David Colter, six grandchildren; Kelly Bera (Brian), Adam Colter (Sara), Kari Reece (Brad), Katie Poynter (Joe), AJ Colter (Virginia), And Britt Wright (Tessa), eleven great-grandchildren, and two sisters; Judy Cole and Marty Marshall. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00PM Saturday December 30, 2023, at Shattalon Church of Christ with Preacher Keith Colter and Preacher Gene Woolard officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview memorial park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
