Norma Jean Bishop De La Cruz

KERNERSVILLE - Norma Jean Bishop De La Cruz, 70, a loving wife, mother, grandmother great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born June 27, 1942 in Giles Co., VA to the late George Leon Bishop and Virginia Thomas Bishop Knoll. Norma had a great compassion for people. She had a very kind spirit and was unfailing with her generosity towards anyone in need. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father, Anton Tony Knoll. Surviving are her husband, Ricardo Rudolfo De La Cruz of the home; two daughters, Joann Larsen and husband, David of Riverside, CA and Emma Palacios and husband, Manuel of Alta Loma, CA; four sons, John Sanchez and wife, Edna of El Paso, TX, Art Sanchez and wife, Petra of the Netherlands, Mike Sanchez of Victorville, CA, and Richard De La Cruz and wife Sara of Advance; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Joann Dalton and husband, Jerry of Pulaski, VA; two brothers, Tony Knoll and wife Denise of Chino, CA, and Richard Bishop of Princeton, WV; and a very dear and special friend, Sherry Campbell. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Friday, September 21, 2012 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00 PM prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
