Ms. Norma Marie Burcham, 92, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 at her home. She was born February 3, 1918 in River Falls, Wisconsin to Casper and Elizabeth Schwalen. Ms. Burcham attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Nurses Corp as a First Lieutenant, and had retired from Amos Cottage after 17 years of service. Surviving are four daughters, Norma Anne Reese of the home, Paddy Gordon and husband Marshall of Maryland, Candy Burcham of Maryland, and Jamie Burcham of Rural Hall; four grandchildren, Ian, Sara, Eva, and Ana; five nieces and nephews; and a number of great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Joe Angelini officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
