Norma Dezarn Bridges

BRIDGES - Rural Hall Mrs. Norma J. Dezarn Bridges passed away Monday, August 24, 2009 at Universal Healthcare of King. She was born February 26 in Forsyth County to the late Silas and Della Dezarn. Mrs. Bridges had been a member of Freedom Baptist Church since 1971 and was a member of Grace Sunday School Class and Young at Heart. She retired from Forsyth County Sherriff's Office with 32 years of service as a school crossing guard for Walkertown Elementary. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bridges is preceded in death by her husband, James Bridges; one sister, Jewel Dezarn; three brothers, Jesse, Travis and Wayne Dezarn. Surviving are her son, Gene Bridges and wife, Shirley of Pfafftown; one granddaughter, Yvonne White of Kernersville; two great-granddaughters, Carmen and Crystle of Kernersville; and one brother, Jimmy Dezarn of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, August 27 at Pilot View United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Lawson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday morning at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
