Norma Boaz

Mrs. Norma Forrest Boaz, 99, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem. She was born February 23, 1923, in Stokes County to the late Roy Earson Forrest and Eugenia Ray Forrest. Norma was the oldest living member of First United Methodist Church Pilot Mountain, an avid golfer when her health would allow it, and a charter member of the Pilot Mountain Garden Club. She had a love and passion for cooking, gardening, canning, her flower garden, and keeping up her yard and home. Norma was extremely supportive of her late husband, Bud, and his ventures in both Needham Funeral Home and later Cox-Needham Funeral Home. She was extremely focused on her family and would often clip out newspaper articles highlighting the achievements of her family and friends in order to share them later. Anyone who had ever visited the home of Norma knows that you could not leave without being offered something to eat or drink, and no matter who attended their family Sunday dinners they were always welcome. Norma’s highest priorities were God, her family, her home, her garden, her neighbors. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, R.J. “Bud” Boaz, a brother; Walter Forrest, a sister; Alta Clodfelter, and her daughter-in-law Brenda Collins Boaz. Norma is survived by her two sons; Raymond “Jeff” Jefferson Boaz Jr., and Forrest Boaz (Susan). Six grandchildren; Martha Shaw (Casey), Jay Boaz (Merry Craig), Beth Honeycutt (Michael), Ben Boaz (Jennifer), Forrest Ray Boaz Jr. (Amber), and Justin Boaz (Karyn), ten great-grandchildren; Jefferson Boaz, Jake Honeycutt, Folger Boaz, Merry Parker Boaz, Addyson Boaz, McCray Boaz, Neyland Boaz, Finley Boaz, Woodrow Boaz, and Ellison Boaz, and one brother; Jim Forrest (Dee). The family will receive friends at 3:00PM Saturday, May 28, 2022, at First United Methodist Church Pilot Mountain. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church General Fund, PO. Box 696 Pilot Mountain NC, 27041, or the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem NC, 27103.
