Nora Lee Scales

Mrs. Nora Lee Scales, 83, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Scales was born in Forsyth County on December 6, 1930 to Musser Lewis and Mamie Elizabeth Branch Colley. She was of the Moravian faith and retired from AT&T with over 20 years of loyal service. Mrs. Scales enjoyed painting and reading until her health declined. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Lee Scales; and two sons, David Lewis Scales and Timothy Colley Scales. Mrs. Scales is survived by a daughter, Susan Scales Raley of Winston-Salem; a son, Alan Scales of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Christine Elizabeth Scales, Melissa Irene Scales, David Lewis Scales, Jr., all of Charlotte, and Michael Thomas Raley, Jr. of Fairfax, VT; and four great grandchildren, Morgan Lewis Scales, Cooper Allen Scales, Nora Lenna Raley, and Nicholas David Raley. A funeral service will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Hancock officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
