Mrs. Nina Wooten Cranfill, 82, of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born July 30, 1927 in Yadkin County to Ules C. and Bessie Brown Wooten. Mrs. Cranfill attended Mt. Carmel Church of the Living God and Faith Chapel Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and working in her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bishop Robert S. Cranfill; her parents; a daughter, Lynda C. Rabil; five brothers; and two sisters. Surviving are three daughters, Shirley C. Porterfield and husband David of East Bend, Betty C. Holcomb of Winston-Salem, Glynda C. Allen and husband Joe of Mocksville; nine grandchildren, Jeanne E. Jennings, Michael C. Everhart, Rob Rabil, Kathryn Rabil, Chad Nichols, Andrew Nichols, Jerry Holcomb, Vikki Skok and David Brown; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Rachel Hartman of Mesa, Arizona and Geneva Holloway of Opp, Alabama; a brother, Danny L. Wooten of Clemmons; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Bob Farris and Thelma King. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Joe Long officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
